Algonquin Park Spring Visit

June 18, 2013  •  1 Comment

This year I had the pleasure of spending 2.5 days with my lovely girlfriend in Algonquin Provincial Park. It seems like every time I venture through those gates it’s either winter or raining. None the less we managed to see 16 Moose with a mix of cows, bulls and calf’s. A beautiful pair of Red Fox's and their Kits. Also a variety of birds and White Tailed Deer.

The worst part of the park however was the relentless mosquitos and black flies, that’s spring in northern Ontario for you. With all my clothing, bug spray and bug net I still managed to receive about 30 bites in total over the time we were there. All in all the park is well worth a visit no matter the season, I try to go at least 3-4 times a year to really get to see all the sights.

In the last year I’ve managed to see a variety of moose, deer, wolves, fox’s, owls, eagles, martens and birds. One of my favourite things about the park is that you never know what each bend will hold. So take the time whether it’s a week or a weekend and head down to Algonquin one of Ontario’s most beautiful provincial parks.
